An Evening with Dr Vandana Shiva, Patrick Holden and Liz Hosken: why small-scale ecological agriculture is the way forward (Event)

Dr Vandana Shiva is an exceptional personality and her work has been a driving force for the international ecology and feminist movements since the 1970s. While her academic accomplishments are remarkable and international accolades well deserved, it is the contagion of her vision and convictions that makes her a magnetic personality, capable of global change.

Dr Vandana Shiva will be the keynote speaker at an upcoming Gaia Foundation event where she will be accompanied by Patrick Holden of the Soil Association and Liz Hosken of the Gaia Foundation. The meeting entitled “Industrial Agriculture – Perilous for our Planet: why small-scale ecological agriculture is the way forward” will take place on March 5th, 2010 in North London, where a discussion will be hosted on the ecological impacts of our current industrial agriculture system. This model will be contrasted with small-scale ecological agriculture to demonstrate the potential of the small-scale model in meeting the challenges facing our international food system.

Tickets(£8/£12) can be booked online.  For more information about the meeting and reservations click here.
